Richard Payne co-founded the firm together with his partner, John Morrison in 1995.

Richard practices Commercial Litigation including Construction Liens and also does a large volume of Debtor/Creditor and collections work. Richard is a member of the Commercial Law League of America and attended their Conference in New York City in 2008. He recently participated in a Seminar organized by the Law Society of Upper Canada in which he presented a paper called “Collecting on your outstanding accounts- Solicitors Lien and Ethical Collections”.

Richard has an LL.B. from Dalhousie University and a B.A also from Dalhousie University. He was called to the Bar in the Province of Nova Scotia in 1985 and the Bar in the Province of Ontario in 1987.

John Morrison co-founded the firm together with his partner, Richard Payne in January, 1995.

John practices mainly in the Corporate/Commercial area including asset and share transactions, commercial real estate tranactions, including financings,corporate reorganizations as well as shareholder and partnership agreements.

John has also developed a practice in residential real estate as well as Wills and Estate Planning and Administration.

John graduated from Dalhousie University in 1984 with an MBA and LLB. John was called to the Bar in the province of Ontario in 1986.
